This role exists for all the right reasons.
Having helped build a robust, well-run mechanical design function, the current incumbent is about to head off for a well-earned retirement. Consequently, we now have an opening for somebody to step in, take the reins and continue evolving how design supports delivery – without reinventing everything for the sake of it.
The Mechanical Services Design Manager will be office-based, working closely with commercial and pre-construction teams, reviewing and coordinating designs from specialist subcontractors, and making sure what’s drawn can actually be built.
Naturally, there will be site visits, but this certainly isn’t a roaming role - it’s about leadership, clarity and consistency.
Projects sit across housing, care homes, student accommodation, hotels and high-end residential, typically £5m–£50m. Enough complexity to stay interesting, without constant chaos.
Package reflects the seniority including but not limited to:
- Around £80k
- Electric / hybrid car scheme

- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
